My Personal Story: Seen but not Heard
For 21 years, I felt invisible, despite being physically present in every room. Growing up, my voice often went unheard, overshadowed by the louder, more dominant voices around me. This feeling of being “Seen but not Heard” became a central theme in my life, shaping my identity and my experiences.
My journey took a significant turn when I decided to write “Seen but not Heard.” The book was born from a deep desire to share my story and the stories of many others like me—those who have struggled with being acknowledged and validated. It was a cathartic process, allowing me to explore my past and confront the feelings of silence that had lingered for so long.
In writing this book, I aimed to empower others who have felt the same way. I wanted to create a space where individuals could recognize their experiences and understand that they are not alone. Sharing my story was not just about me; it was about giving a voice to those who have been muted by circumstances, society, or their own fears.
Publishing “Seen but not Heard” was a pivotal moment in my life. It allowed me to reclaim my narrative and take ownership of my voice. I began to realise the power of storytelling—not only as a means of personal expression but also as a tool for connection and healing. Each person who reached out to me after reading my book shared their own experiences, and it was profoundly moving to see how our stories intertwined.
As I continue to share my journey, I am committed to advocating for those who feel unseen and unheard. I believe that by shining a light on our experiences, we can create a ripple effect that inspires others to speak up and share their truths. My hope is that “Seen but not Heard” serves as a reminder that our voices matter and that we all deserve to be heard.
